Hwy 49 Adventures was created to connect people with the vast outdoor recreational options available in the Tahoe National Forest while helping to meet your needs for services, accommodations, and dining.

The Founders of Hwy 49 Adventures, Stephen and Brandi Terry, spent more than 20 years each summer vacationing with family in the region, were married in Downieville in 2009 and later moved to Downieville in 2014.  They along with their daughter, Meaghan Ann, and their two dogs, Bobo and Gracie Girl find this area to be "Heaven on Earth".

Obviously we believe that this region of California is just breathtakingly beautiful with the N. Yuba River flowing majestically along Highway 49  and through the Gold Rush Townships of Sierra City and Downieville, with it's many pools for swimming, terrific native trout fishing, and soothing waters.

We hope you enjoy this site and that you'll connect with the beauty of the Tahoe National Forest with the same enthusiasm that we do.
